Sunny Days in England (day 2)

Fully recovered from jet lag, we woke up early and walked less than a mile from our hotel to our first appointment of the day.. breakfast at the Duck and Waffle.  Friend Dory booked this because of the spectacular view of the city  and some parts of the Thames River from the 40th floor. We just missed the sunrise by a good one hour or so, sunrise was probably at 4 am , lol.  Lesson learned, recheck sunrise times constantly when travelling ;  but then who wants breakfast at 4 am? We all ordered the signature duck and waffle and we were pleasantly surprised; it was delicious.

We walked a few more miles towards Tower Hill station for the River Cruise. Free river cruise (with return) is part of the 2 day premium Big Bus Tour promo. We had plenty of time to just walk around and admire the Tower Bridge.

…and for more coffee at Paul. Paul’s Bakery in Lower Thames Street has an amazing view of the Tower Bridge and is just near the River Cruise Tour boarding area.Too bad I didn’t try their bread or pastries for which they are known for. I love their coffee though.

One of the events  that I have thoroughly enjoyed for free in London is the Changing The Queen’s Life Guard at Horse Guards Parade.

More shopping..love how Brits get into the spirit of the Royal wedding. Even Cath Kidston had Harry and Meghan merchandise for sale to commemorate the royal wedding.

…and High Tea at Fortnum and Mason to cap the day. It was a impromptu decision that we made during the river cruise; so most tea shops were fully booked ; I was able to make a reservation via Open Table for a 630 pm High Tea at Fortnum&Mason.

I think we just got a little crazy there. It’s better than Disneyland!
