We were headed to Mt Charleston to take the kids for some winter fun and Vince thought we could pass by Death Valley on our way there. We have always wanted to explore Death Valley National Park but the fear of extreme warm weather during the visit was a deterrent. We figured, it was safer to visit it during winter when temperatures range from the low 30’s and high 60’s F. Death Valley National Park earned a world record for having the highest air temperature in July 1913 at 134 degrees F.
Leaving home around 3 am, we arrived at Death Valley National Park around 0630 am; the sun had just risen and it was beautiful. I wish we had more time to explore it, It was a short adventure , I’m sure we will visit it again.
