South west of New Zealand’s South island is Queenstown. I love the vibe here. Lots of great options for activities and things to do; lots of cafes and restaurants too. From the West Coast, we passed by Lake Hawea. I wish we had more time to explore this beautiful place. Here’s a photo of Lake Hawea from the lookout.

My sister and brother in law  as we stopped in one of the lookouts in Crown Range road . Steep and mountainous, I thought it was the scariest ride of my life. The view was awesome though.

Along the crown range road, we visited this nice hamlet in the Cardrona valley. Cardrona is a popular alpine ski resort during the winter season.

And how can I forget this infamous  fence in Cardrona which is lined with about 600-800 bras? This spot here earned the nickname Bradrona in Cardrona.

In Queenstown, we boarded the TSS Earnslaw and cruised across Lake Wakatipu for a tour of  the Walter Peak farm. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I had fun learning about sheep farming and had particularly enjoyed  the sheepdog herding this flock of sheep demonstration.

Must have – a selfie with a sheep!

Second day in Queenstown was spent sightseeing.  A few minutes from downtown Queenstown, we took a scenic gondola ride with the Skyline Gondola

From the Skyline observation deck, you get a great view of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown and The Remarkables Mountain range.
